What we collect — and what we never will

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Sunlight is built on a simple promise: protect the people you care about without spying on them. This page covers what we collect on this website today and the privacy principles that guide everything we build.

Our promise: protection without surveillance

Sunlight is built so the things that identify a person — the sites they visit, the messages they send, the apps they open by name — never leave their device. We don't sell data, we don't run third-party ad or marketing trackers, and we don't ask for access to location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. A complete data inventory will be published here as the product rolls out.

What this site collects today

  • Waitlist email

If you submit your email on the homepage, we store it so we can email you when Sunlight is ready. Nothing else. Ask us to delete it any time at the address below.

  • Bot-protection token

The waitlist form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set a short-lived cf_chl_* challenge cookie to confirm you're not a bot. It can't be disabled without breaking the form.

  • Standard request logs

Cloudflare records the usual HTTP metadata (IP, user-agent, requested path, timestamp) for every request — used for abuse mitigation and debugging. Subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.

What this site does not do

  • No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no advertising or retargeting tags.
  • No first-party analytics cookies or tracking pixels.
  • No selling or sharing of your email with third parties.
